My PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) Diet

So, I found out some time ago that I have a disease called PCOS. But not until now did I realize all that it can cause and prevent. People that have this disease tend to have problems with their weight and with getting pregnant. They also have a higher chance for heart disease and diabetes, it's a little scary to think about. But since I know I have an issue as of now with getting pregnant I have been trying for some time now for baby #2 and had a miscarriage in January, I have been researching things that can help prevent these thing from happening to me and I have come up with a solution. I have found a diet (or more a way of life) and I know it's going to help in so many ways.

So here it is..........

MY PCOS DIET (LIVE IT) PLAN

* Multiply your weight by a number ( 10-20) depending on how overweight and active you are ( high number for some one less over weight and lower number for some one more over weight) for example : 5-10 lbs over weight multiply your weight by 20 , then subtract 500 if you want to lose 1 lb. a week and 1000 if you want to lose 2lbs a week. That will be your calorie intake for a day.

* Do not eat carbohydrates by themselves. Instead, combine them with a protein and/or fat.

* Take a multivitamin with minerals ( 400 mcg of folic acid if trying to get pregnant )

* Also take 1000-1500 mg of calcium ( take 2-3 500 mg pills a day)

* Try to add your protein to 100 g a day.

* Exercise 3-5 times a week for 30-45 min

* Since PCOS has to do a lot with insulin, one thing to do is to make sure that you eat food higher in fiber and lower in sugar for a slower release of the insulin.

My GREAT deal!!

That's right go ahead and count them all TEN boxes of cereal for just a little over $4.00. So this is how, get your adds from Harmons, Fresh Market and other associated foods and in them there is a manufactures coupon for three dollars off of 5 boxes of Quaker oatmeal and captain crunch and life cereal. Well right now at smiths they are having a deal 5 for 5 so when you use this coupon you can get three dollars off so it comes out to be $2.00 for 5 boxes. woo hoo!! that's a good deal.

Update

Well, we moved into our new home and absolutely are loving it. Cami has her own room and a play room all to her self. She loves being able to have free run of the house. We are loving having a front room for visiting and another room for the TV and entertainment. We have already done some yard work and I'm very much enjoying it, getting a tan while making my home look good. I'll get some pictures of it decorated, it's not all in place but it's looking and feeling more like home each day.
